Pace for ChatGPT Privacy Policy

By Deljo Joseph · Updated October 7, 2026

Pace for ChatGPT prepares old expense records for the Pace iPhone app. Files you share here are processed in ChatGPT. They do not stay only on your iPhone.

Publisher and responsibility for your data

Pace for ChatGPT is provided by Deljo Joseph. Deljo Joseph is responsible for personal information received directly through Pace support. OpenAI is responsible for processing your ChatGPT content under its own terms, privacy policy and any applicable workspace agreement.

Data received and retained by Pace

Deljo Joseph and Pace’s servers do not receive or retain the expense files, ChatGPT messages, generated ZIP files or reports processed by this plugin. The plugin runs within ChatGPT and has no separate Pace conversion server.

Retention of plugin expense data by Pace: none. Pace receives no server copy. OpenAI’s retention rules are explained below. Support emails are received separately and follow the support rules at the end of this policy.

If you download the ZIP and import it into the Pace iPhone app, the app stores those records separately on your device and, if enabled, in your private Apple iCloud storage.

What is processed and why

The plugin uses the files and messages you choose to share. Expense records can include amounts, currencies, dates, merchants, categories, notes, transaction identifiers, account labels and filenames. Notes or labels may contain personal information. Your answers about categories, dates or currency estimates are also used.

This information is used to read and check expenses, identify possible repeated records, group spending, calculate totals and a monthly average, and prepare your import ZIP and checking reports. The plugin does not connect to your bank, access your Pace app, move money or use your expenses for advertising.

Share only the expense information needed. Use transaction-only exports. Remove account numbers, full payment-card details, passwords, login codes, government identifiers and protected medical information before uploading. The plugin does not request or support processing those details.

Who receives it

OpenAI processes your messages, uploaded files and generated files in ChatGPT, with its service providers under OpenAI’s privacy policy. That policy explains OpenAI’s recipients, international processing and account data practices. Workspace rules may also apply.

The plugin adds no advertising, tracking or usage analytics and does not sell your expense data.

If you approve currency estimates, public exchange rates may be fetched from a rate provider. Only the public rate request is needed; your files, amounts, merchants and notes must not be sent to that provider. The generated ZIP is returned to you. It reaches Pace only when you download it and import it yourself.

How long files and chats remain

OpenAI controls storage and deletion within ChatGPT. Regular chats remain until you delete them or your workspace’s retention policy removes them. Files saved in ChatGPT Library remain separately until deleted; deleting a chat does not delete its Library files.

OpenAI schedules deleted chats and Library files for permanent deletion within 30 days, subject to its exceptions for data already de-identified and disassociated from your account, security needs or legal obligations. Temporary chats may be retained for up to 30 days for safety. Transient files can expire separately, and managed workspaces can have different retention rules.

See OpenAI’s current chat and file retention rules and Library controls. Pace cannot delete data held by OpenAI or guarantee its deletion.

Your choices

You choose which files to share and can stop the conversion at any time. Delete unwanted chats and Library files separately. Delete downloaded copies from your own devices when no longer needed.

In ChatGPT Settings → Data controls, you can turn off “Improve the model for everyone” for new conversations. OpenAI may use eligible personal-account content to improve models when this setting is on. Temporary chats are not used for model improvement while they remain temporary. Available controls depend on your plan and workspace. See OpenAI’s data controls or make a request through OpenAI’s Privacy Portal.

After you import a ZIP, Pace’s on-device records and optional private Apple iCloud storage follow the Pace iPhone privacy policy. This is separate from deleting the files in ChatGPT.

Contact and support

For questions about this plugin or policy, contact Deljo Joseph at dj@deljojoseph.com. Send the source app, file type and error first. Do not email your financial history.

If you email support, Deljo Joseph receives your email address, message and any attachments through the email provider to answer your request. The email provider processes this information to deliver and store the correspondence. Support messages are separate from ChatGPT’s conversion workspace.

Deljo Joseph deletes support emails and attachments within 30 days after resolving your request, unless longer retention is required by law. Information that must be kept for a legal obligation is retained only for that obligation.

You can request deletion of support correspondence by emailing dj@deljojoseph.com from the address you used to contact support. Deljo Joseph can act on support data held directly, but cannot delete your ChatGPT content; use the OpenAI controls described above for that.
