Privacy Policy

Privacy is a product feature, not an afterthought.

1. Local & Private by Default

The Pace iPhone app is completely local. No signup, no account, and no email is required to make it work. Financial data remains local on the device and, if iCloud is enabled, safely stored in a private Apple CloudKit store. There is no external access to personal financial records. The optional ChatGPT plugin has a separate file flow, explained below.

2. Apple iOS Exclusive

Pace is designed exclusively for Apple iOS, leveraging the built-in privacy and security features of the Apple ecosystem.

3. No Advertising, No Data Brokering

Pace contains no ad networks, and data is never sold or shared with data brokers. Advertising creates an incentive to maximize attention and collect data, which conflicts with Pace’s purpose.

4. Product Analytics

There are currently no product analytics built into Pace. If analytics or telemetry are introduced in the future to help diagnose crashes and analyze general usage, an explicit option to opt in or out will be provided. Any future telemetry will never receive exact financial values or private text, and will remain completely stripped of personal identifiers.

5. Data Ownership

Data is never a hostage. It can always be viewed, exported, and deleted freely at any time.

6. Pace for ChatGPT

When you add files to Pace for ChatGPT, you provide those files and your messages to ChatGPT. The plugin uses ChatGPT’s file workspace to prepare a ZIP, a record of how expenses were grouped, and a report of the totals and any issues. It does not connect to your Pace app, your bank or a separate Pace conversion server.

The plugin does not send your expense files to Deljo Joseph, run advertising or collect its own usage analytics. If you choose currency estimates, ChatGPT may obtain public historical exchange rates; that process does not require sending your transaction history to the rate provider.

Read the Pace for ChatGPT privacy policy for the expense data processed, recipients, retention timelines and your deletion controls. ChatGPT’s storage and use of files and messages follow your OpenAI account’s settings and policies. Pace does not control or promise deletion from ChatGPT.

Only add information you want ChatGPT to process. Remove account numbers and other unnecessary personal details. Do not add passwords, identity documents or bank login details. Once you import the downloaded ZIP, the resulting records follow the iPhone app’s local and optional private iCloud storage described above.

If you email support, Deljo Joseph receives what you choose to send. Send the file type, source app and error message first; do not send your full financial history. The Pace for ChatGPT privacy policy explains retention and deletion requests for plugin support messages.
